Conferring of title of ambassador
Bern, 14.09.2018 - The following personnel changes will take place in 2018 at the head office of the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs (FDFA) in Bern and at the Geneva Welcome Centre (CAGI). The changes will take place as part of the usual transfer rotation and on the basis of decisions made by the Federal Council.
Frank Grütter, currently head of the Division for Security Policy (with the title of ambassador) in the Directorate of Political Affairs in Bern, has been appointed head of the United Nations and International Organisations Division (with the title of ambassador) in the same directorate.
Salman Bal, currently Senior Political Affairs Officer at the United Nations Office in Geneva, has been appointed director of the Geneva Welcome Centre (CAGI). The title of ambassador has been conferred upon him to allow him to carry out this new role.
