Stable growth of Swiss economy in 2017

Neuchâtel, 28.08.2018 - (FSO) – The Swiss economy’s gross domestic product (GDP) rose by 1.6% in 2017 at previous year’s prices, an increase identical to that of 2016. This growth is in keeping with a contrasting environment characterised by a marked downturn in the contribution of foreign trade and strong growth in investments in capital goods. The gross national income (GNI) at current prices registered an increase of 1.8% following an improved balance of income with abroad. These initial estimates for 2017 from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) are accompanied by a revision of the results from 2015 and 2016.
