Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer receives Cameroonian Finance Minister

Bern, 04.06.2018 - On 4 June 2018, Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer received the Cameroonian Finance Minister Louis Paul Motaze on a working visit to Bern. The two finance ministers discussed financial and tax matters.

The exchange between Minister Motaze and Federal Councillor Ueli Maurer was devoted to current topics at the international level, as well as concrete regional challenges in the field of financial and tax matters. Due to its development potential, Africa is an interesting and important market of the future for Switzerland regarding financial market services and investments. Progress on issues such as correspondent banking, capacity building and the integrity of financial markets is also divided into the efforts to achieve the goals of the 2030 Agenda.

The two finance ministers reiterated in their talks that both countries would like to further improve their good financial and economic relations in the future. They also prompted in-depth discussions at the technical level concerning the possible conclusion of a double taxation agreement.
