Population change 2017: provisional figures - Net decline in population growth in 2017
Neuchâtel, 06.04.2018 - (FSO) – At the end of 2017, Switzerland had a population of 8 482 200, i.e. 62 600 (+0.7%) more than in 2016. Falling below the 1% mark, growth was much slower than that recorded between 2007 and 2016 and was comparable to the growth seen in the early 2000s. The foreign population grew more slowly than in previous years. Net migration continued to fall. These are some of the provisional results from the Federal Statistical Office's Population and Household Statistics.
