Homicides according to the police crime statistics between 2009 and 2016 - Decrease of almost 40% in deaths by homicide since 2004

Neuchâtel, 22.01.2018 - (FSO) – According to the police crime statistics (PCS), 49 persons on average were killed every year between 2009 and 2016, i.e. 38% fewer than during the years 2000 to 2004, which have already been the subject of such a study. There were 172 victims of homicide attempts per year, representing an increase of 24% compared with the years 2000 to 2004. At least six in ten victims knew their assailant. Firearms are used less often.
