ComCom: its new composition

Bern, 05.12.2017 - At its session on 1 December 2017, the Federal Council appointed Adrienne Corboud Fumagalli, a current member of the Federal Communications Commission (ComCom), as the new Vice-President. The Federal Council also appointed two new ComCom members, Flavia Verzasconi and Christian Martin. They will replace members Monica Duca Widmer and Reiner Eichenberger, with effect from 1 January 2018, who will be leaving ComCom after the maximum term of office.

After serving the maximum term of office of 12 years, Dr. Monica Duca Widmer, ComCom's Vice-President since 2012, and Professor. Dr. Reiner Eichenberger will be leaving the Commission at the end of the year.  ComCom thanks the two outgoing members for their service and their great commitment.

The Federal Council appointed Dr. Adrienne Corboud Fumagalli, a long-term member of ComCom with extensive professional experience in the ICT sector, as the new Vice-President from 1 January 2018.

The Federal Council also appointed two new Commission members who will join ComCom from 1 January 2018:

-  As an HTL electrical engineer and general manager of Cisco Switzerland, Christian Martin has outstanding knowledge of information and communication technologies (ICT).

-  Flavia Verzasconi is a licensed lawyer and notary in the canton of Ticino. She is President of the Administrative Court of the canton of Ticino and has extensive specialist knowledge of public law, which is important for ComCom.
