Economic accounts for agriculture: estimates 2017 - Swiss agriculture has suffered from frost in 2017 but is expected to achieve stability due to good harvests

Neuchâtel, 03.10.2017 - (FSO) – In 2017, Swiss agriculture is once again expected to generate a gross value added of around CHF 4 billion, a slight increase of 0.6% compared with the previous year. While orchards and vineyards have been affected by the frost, harvests have been far better than in 2016. Animal production and production costs have remained stable. These initial estimates for the current year are based on the economic accounts for agriculture compiled by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
