Attack in Egypt – FDFA position statement

Bern, 26.05.2017 - The FDFA is deeply saddened by the latest attack on Egypt’s Coptic Christians killing and injuring many people including children. It condemns the attack in the strongest possible terms.

The attackers targeted buses carrying passengers to the monastery of Saint Samuel in Minya province, killing and injuring many people including children. The FDFA condemns this latest bloody attack against the Egyptian Coptic community in the strongest possible terms.

The FDFA wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the victims’ families and friends.

The president of the Swiss Confederation has sent a letter of condolence to the Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.
