Police crime statistics 2016 - Burglaries fall again in Switzerland in 2016
Neuchâtel, 27.03.2017 - (FSO) – In 2016, the number of burglaries fell again by 11%, according to the Police crime statistics (PCS) compiled by the Federal Statistical Office. Since the revision of the police statistics in 2009, 2012 stood out as a record year with 201 burglaries registered by the police each day in Switzerland. In 2016 this figure fell to 127. Furthermore, the number of minors charged declined by almost half between 2009 and 2016 for all offences under the Swiss Criminal Code.
