Nursing home and home care services in 2015 - Ever-shorter nursing home stays

Neuchâtel, 17.11.2016 - (FSO) – In 2015 the decrease in the number of days spent in nursing homes and the near stagnation in the number of places available (94,662) resulted in a steady decline in the occupancy rate (93,7%). Over a three year period, the average nursing home stay decreased by over a month. In contrast, the number of hours spent on home care services continued to increase (+9,7%). These are some of the results from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
