Economic accounts for agriculture 2015: estimates – Swiss agriculture generates less income in 2015

Neuchâtel, 06.10.2015 - (FSO) - Income in the Swiss agricultural sector declined by 10.9% in 2015 compared with the previous year. This drop follows the two consecutive increases registered in 2013 and 2014. Decreases in the price of milk and pigs are the main reasons for this fall, partly mitigated by the reduction in production costs. These initial estimates are based on the economic accounts for agriculture compiled by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
