Assassination of Chokri Belaid - FDFA Statement
Bern, 07.02.2013 - The FDFA condemns in the strongest of terms the assassination of Mr. Chokri Belaid, leader of the Unified Democratic Nationalist Party.
The FDFA expresses its sincere condolences to the family of the victim. It calls for the authors of this crime to be brought to justice once an independent and neutral investigation has been completed. In these painful and difficult times, Switzerland expresses its solidarity with the Tunisian people, reiterates its support of the transition process in Tunisia, and appeals to all of the population to act in such a way as to ensure that the democratic process moves forward while respecting the law and privileging dialogue.
