By 2020, health institutions in Switzerland will need at least an additional 25,000 qualified staff

Neuchâtel, 26.02.2009 - (Obsan / GDK) – In 2006, almost 200,000 persons with a qualification in a health-related field were employed by hospitals, nursing homes and home care services. The ageing of the population will require increased care. By 2020, this could lead to an increase in the need for qualified personnel of at least 25,000 persons. The Swiss Health Observatory has issued these projections on behalf of the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Health (SDK/CDS).
