Temporary suspension of export licences for air defence systems

Bern, 14.11.2007 - On Wednesday 14 November 2007 the Federal Council decided to temporarily suspend export licences for air defence systems to Pakistan.

In view of the current situation in Pakistan, the Federal Council decided on 14 November 2007 to suspend export licences for air defence systems to Pakistan until further notice. In December 2006, the Federal Council authorised the export of 21 systems, including ammunition, worth around 136 million Swiss francs and approved an option to export three other systems with a value of around 20 million Swiss francs. So far, six air defence systems worth around 38 million Swiss francs have been delivered.
