Official visit to Bern by his majesty Bat Samdech Praeh Boromneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, king of Cambodia.
Berne, 24.05.2007 - During a private visit to Switzerland, his majesty Bat Samdech Praeh Boromneath NORODOM SIHAMONI, king of Cambodia, will pay an official visit to Bern on Tuesday 29 May 2007. He will be welcomed for talks and for a working lunch by a Federal Council delegation comprising President of the Confederation, Micheline Calmy-Rey, Vice-President of the Federal Council, Pascal Couchepin and Federal Councillor Doris Leuthard. The discussions will focus on bilateral relations and on international issues, including UN reforms
This year Switzerland and Cambodia are celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. It was in this context that the President of the Confederation visited Cambodia in February. Relations between the two countries are constantly developing and diversifying. Switzerland supports the development of Cambodia in the form of several regional projects run by the SDC and seco.
