Federal Council sets out proposals for media funding independent of broadcast channel
Bern, 21.02.2024 - Digital transformation poses major challenges for the Swiss media. Many companies are struggling with declining consumption of traditional media offerings and falling advertising revenues. This has an impact on the diversity of the Swiss media landscape. A postulate report adopted by the Federal Council at its meeting on 21 February 2024 sets out models for future state support for the media. The Federal Council has refrained from recommending a particular option.
