President of the Swiss Confederation takes part in remembrance event at Auschwitz
Bern, 24.1.2020 - On Monday, 27 January some 200 Holocaust survivors and many heads of state and government are expected to attend the ceremony to mark the 75th anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration and extermination camp. President Simonetta Sommaruga will represent Switzerland at the memorial event, and will be accompanied by Swiss Holocaust survivors and two students.
