Restitution of politically exposed persons’ assets: Switzerland hosts expert meeting on international cooperation
Bern, 1.3.2017 - Experts from some 30 countries and international organisations met in Lausanne from 27 February to 1 March 2017 for the tenth annual Lausanne Seminar on the restitution of politically exposed persons’ assets. Participants included specialists in international mutual legal assistance, the exchange of financial information, and asset recovery. The focus of the meeting was on the establishment of steps of action for international cooperation in this area under the mandate of the UN. The Lausanne Seminar goes hand in hand with Switzerland’s resolve to prevent assets illicitly acquired by politically exposed persons from finding their way to the country’s financial centre.
