Patrick Aebischer to step down from EPFL presidency at end of 2016
Bern, 18.2.2015 - The Federal Council today extended the term of office of Professor Patrick Aebischer, president of the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), until 31 December 2016. The decision follows the unanimous motion in favour of re-election presented by the ETH Board and reflects the wish of the EPFL president to hand over to a successor in two years’ time. The Federal Council thanks Patrick Aebischer for his invaluable contribution to Switzerland’s standing as a location for education and research.
