Federal Statistical Office Director, Adelheid Bürgi-Schmelz, to leave for International Monetary Fund
Neuchâtel, 3.7.2008 - The Federal Council has acknowledged Mrs Adelheid Bürgi-Schmelz’s planned departure from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) to work in Washington as director of a department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). She was offered the post on the strength of her professional profile, her ‘change management’ oriented leadership style and her in-depth knowledge in the area of IT-technology. The Federal Council thanks Mrs Adelheid Bürgi-Schmelz for her service and dedication to Switzerland’s official statistics and congratulates her upon her appointment.
