Company law to be modernized
Berne, 21.12.2007 - By revising joint-stock company and accounting legislation, the Federal Council wishes to modernize the law in these areas and bring it in to line with the needs of the economy. It adopted its Opinion and the draft legislation on Friday. The bill improves corporate governance, gives companies more scope with regard to their capital structures, permits annual general meetings to be held by electronic means, and replaces outdated accounting legislation.
