Structural Business Statistics 2022 - Record employment growth in secondary sector
Neuchâtel, 22.8.2024 - In 2022, the Swiss economy counted 637 000 businesses and almost 5.6 million jobs. Strong employment growth observed in 2021 continued in 2022, with an increase of more than 143 000 jobs, which was a rise of 2.6% compared with 2021. The secondary and tertiary sectors recorded their biggest expansion in jobs since 2011, the year these statistics were first established. These are the latest results of the Federal Statistical Office's (FSO) Structural Business Statistics (STATENT).
