Art. 9 Manufacturing processes

The Federal Council may restrict or prohibit the following substances and processes if according to the current state of scientific knowledge it is not possible to exclude a risk to health:

a.1
agricultural auxiliary agents (Arts. 158 and 159 of the Agriculture Act of 29 April 19982), veterinary drugs and certain agricultural production processes;
b.3
physical, chemical, microbiological or biotechnological processes for the manufacture or processing of foodstuffs or utility articles; in doing so, it shall take account of the requirements of the Genetic Engineering Act of 21 March 20034.
