Producer and Import Price Index in March 2012 – Rising index mainly due to higher oil product prices - year-on-year inflation -2.0%

Neuchâtel, 16.04.2012 - (FSO) - The Producer and Import Price Index calculated by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO) rose in March 2012 by 0.3% compared with the previous month, reaching 98.8 points (base December 2010 = 100). The rise is due in particular to higher prices for oil and petroleum products. The price level of the whole range of domestic and imported products dropped by 2.0% year on year.
